Skin Tightening
SKIN TIGHTENING is another laser treatment we are happy to offer in our practice. This ST technology has been shown to stimulate the collagen fibers to a level of "reconfiguration" whereby they tighten and firm the appearance of the overlying skin. This treatment has been shown to achieve superior results in the neck, chin, jaw, and lower eyelid areas. Although the ST treatment is part of our laser practice, it is a thermal procedure that is designed to penetrate the upper layer of the skin, heating the dermal region to an optimal temperature level that has been shown to shrink the collagen fibers as well as create new collagen.
There is no pain associated with this procedure, although you may feel a warmth about the area being treated. You may a have slightly pink color to your skin when you leave, but this resolves within a few hours. There is no sloughing, peeling or prescriptive care associated with this process.
The ST procedure has been shown to improve the laxity of the face and neck, as well as the upper arms and abdomen. Research now shows that acne scars and stretch marks may improve with the ST treatment as well.
As with other laser treatments we offer, a series of 5 treatments is recommended to achieve the optimal improvement in your skin. These treatments may be scheduled at 4 week intervals.
