CO2 Laser Resurfacing is the strongest, most aggressive form of laser treatment for wrinkles. It is a fractional laser that peels away old layers of inelastic skin and tightens to help improve and virtually eliminate deep wrinkles, acne scarring, sun damage, age spots, and other such imperfections. This laser is best used on the face or neck areas, and it can be performed in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures like facelifts. While it does require being under anesthesia and has a longer recovery time (7-10 days), the CO2 laser is the most effective and has the longest lasting results of the resurfacing treatments. If proper care is taken to avoid extensive sun exposure after treatment, the effects can last for years.
